Road Safety: Revised Fines, Penalties On Ph Traffic Violations 2014

The Department of Transportation & Communications (DOTC), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released the revised schedule of fines and penalties "for the violation of laws, rules and regulations governing land transportation" underJoint Administrative Order 2014-01, effective June-19.

To everyone who drives on Philippine roads and those who know someone who does, please care to read and share the attached copy. For our motorists, here are the essentials:

· Driving without a valid driver's license - now P3000(from P1500) plus disqualification from being granted a driver's license or from driving a motor vehicle for one year from payment of fine.

· Reckless driving - now P2000(from P1000) at First Offense;P3000(from P1500) with three months suspension of Driver’s License at Second Offense; and P10,000(from P2000) with six months suspension of License for the Third Offense. In addition, revocation of the license on succeeding offenses. A non-professional driver whose license has been revoked will be disqualified from obtaining a driver's license for two years from revocation, while a professional driver whose license has been revoked will be perpetually disqualified from getting a license;

· Failure to wear seatbelts - now P1,000at First Offense;P2000Second Offense; andP5000 Third Offense (from only P250, regardless of the number of offenses). Also, Driver's License will be suspended for one week from the payment of fine at third and each succeeding offense. DOTC also notes that children six years old and below are prohibited from sitting in the front passenger seat;

· Failure to carry a driver's license or the vehicle's certificate of registration or official receipt while driving a motor vehicle - now P1000(from P200 for the license and from P150 for the OR/CR);

· Driving an unregistered motor vehicle - now P10,000(from P4,000) plus, impounding of vehicle if non-registration has exceeded one month. Only upon registration and payment of fine and penalties will vehicle be released. If vehicle has an undocumented engine, the vehicle will be impounded and barred from operating for one year upon the payment of fines while the engine will be confiscated by the government;

· Unauthorized vehicle modification, including change-of-color and "other unauthorized modifications of the standard manufacturer's specifications" now P5,000plus the vehicle will be impounded and released only upon correction of defect and payment of fine;

· Operating a motor vehicle without or with defective/improper/unauthorized accessories, devices, equipment and parts - now P5,000(from P150 to P15,000) plus vehicle will be impounded until fine is paid and accessory, device, equipment or part is properly installed/corrected/removed depending on the offense. Any improper or unauthorized device will also be confiscated by the government;

· All other violations of traffic rules and regulations, from parking violations to illegal turns - P1,000.

at bakit lagi na lang motorcycle pinagiinitan nila? pano pala ung mga 4 wheels? mas madami silang violation kaya BOBO ba mga taong nasa pwesto o di lang sila nag iisip. hayz

"grabe dito ako nag alala parang pati narin aftermarket pipe huhulihin na; Impounded + 5,000 pesos fine!!" hahayzz lapit na kasi BEER month :(
