Grinder + Lead Acid Battery = Dangerous!

Hi guys

My motolite solar master lead acid battery exploded! grrr
I was doing some mods on my bike and using grinding (angle grinder) near the battery and KABOOM!!!
battery exploded beside me!!!!

Good thing im wearing helmet, it protect my eyes from acid.
Beware guys, its not wise to use grinder near battery
as sparks from the grinder will cause explosion from battery fumes!

reason:remove the charger 12amps for overnight charging clip to the terminals only,charger still on,battery is warm bubbles floating inside
i dont know what in my mind,,,put back the clip to the terminals and then BOOM

be careful when doing some works near battery.
the tiny sparks from grinder, welding, electric sparks will ignite
the air fumes/mists coming from the battery.

yes that bubbles contains highly flammable hydrogen gas.
if that accumulates and theres a spark.
KABOOM!

yup i prefer using solarmaster on UPS since it can accommodate deep cycle charging.

the only difference with regular lead acid battery and solarmaster is:
solar master is designed for multiple fully discharged
while regular acid battery is not, if its fully discharged, its considered dead and will not fully charge anymore.

both batteries will last depending on their capacity.
mine is 100AH capacity, it lasts 5hours for 32" led tv, 1 electric fan, 2 florescent lights

you can use ups for computers but it will take days to fully charge the battery.
i use heavy duty inverter from cdrking.
